DGP Dilbagh Singh Along with his Wife Test Positive for Covid 19

Amid a fresh wave of covid 19, the Director-General of Jammu Kashmir Police  (DGP) and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the DGP Dilbagh Singh tested positive for the virus on Wednesday along with his wife for covid 19 in Jammu. He said that the couple was showing symptoms of the virus which included fever and body ache. As per reports, Dilbagh Singh has self quarantined himself at his residence in Jammu. Pertinently 373 persons tested positive for covid 19 in Jammu Kashmir on Wednesday, the number marks the highest number of covid cases in 2020 so far.

Danishwar Hameed At least three dozen students were tested positive for covid 19 in the Kulgam district of South Kashmir on Wednesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that at least 30 students from the Noorani Public School in Khul Damhal area in South Kashmir's Kulgam district tested positive for Covid 19 infection. The school has a total roll of 54 students out of which 37 tested positive. All the students are aged between 10-14. Earlier on Wednesday, a teacher of Government School in the Budgam district after the school was shut down for a period of five days. Covid-19 cases recorded in a single day this year hit a new record as Jammu and Kashmir reported 373 fresh infections in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday. Among the fresh cases, they said, Jammu division reported 73 cases and Kashmir 300, taking the J&K’s overall infection count to 130960. Also, four deaths were reported, one from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Valley, taking the total toll to 1994—736 in Jammu region and 1258 in Kashmir. This is for the third time that single day cases breached 300-mark in Jammu and Kashmir. Also, it was for the sixteenth consecutive day that more than 100 cases were reported on a single day in J&K. The authorities in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday ordered the closure of government girls higher secondary school Budgam for at least five days after one teacher was tested positive for Covid-19.
