Over 32 Lakh People Issued Domicile Certificates: MHA

A total of 32,31,353 applicants have been issued Domicile Certificates in Jammu Kashmir as of December 31 last year, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) told the Parliament on Tuesday. Citing information provided by the J&K Administration, Union Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy said these applicants were among the 35,44,938 people who filled applications for the issue of Domicile Certificates have been received till December 31. "As of December 31, 2020, a total of 31,08,682 Domicile Certificates have been issued to the dependents or holders of erstwhile Permanent Resident Certificates in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir," the Minister said in a written reply. Three masked men on Tuesday afternoon robbed a bank in the Mujgund area in the outskirts of Srinagar and decamped with cash amount of around 3.5 lakh. Jammu Kashmir Police Prevent Two Youth from Joining Militancy in Ganderbal

Rayees Shah The Jammu Kashmir Police have managed to locate two youth who had left home to allegedly join militancy in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. The SSP of Ganderbal Khalil Poswal said that a youth hailing from Kurhama and another one hailing from Batwina village had left home to join militant ranks a couple of days ago. They said these youth had taken this step without informing their families. After receiving information, both these youth were located and are being counseled. Meanwhile, the SSP Ganderbal Khalil Poswal in his tweet said that Ganderbal Police succeeded in bringing back two youth hailing from Batwina and Kurhama, Ganderbal who had left home to join militant ranks. CBI Files Case Against 17 Army Officials in Connection with Recruitment Scam

Three students of the Government Degree college for women in Srinagar were found to be covid positive during the Corona Training Campaign at the Women's College Srinagar. 30-Year-old Man Falls From House, Dies in Srinagar

A 30-year-old man died after he fell from the first floor of a residential house in the Chanapora area of Harwan in Srinagar. Official sources said that a 30-year-old man identified as Bashir Ahmad Khatana, son of Fazal Khatana of Kupwara, who was working as servant at the residence of Sheikh Yasir at the Chanapora area of Harwan fell accidentally from the 1st floor of the residential house.
