The Jammu Kashmir Police in Shopian police arrested one drug peddler and recovered 05 Kg of Charas powder-like substance and 02 kg poppy straw from his possession. In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, the Police said that in continuation of its drive against drug dealers to eradicate the menace of drugs in society especially among youths, today on Wednesday. Waris Shah Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Piyush today ordered for constitution of a Committee of officers to ensure implementation of Brick Sale rates fixed and notified vide order no 325 of 2020 dated 07.09.2020. As per the order issued, a committee headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (S) Anantnag and consisting of AD, Food, CS & CA Ang, District Mineral Officer Ang, Sales Tax Officer Anantnag and the SHO concerned shall ensure compliance to the fixed brick sale rates. A minor girl from Kulgam was recovered from Hyderabad after she was kidnapped by an unknown person, and the accused has been arrested, the police said. Shabir Khan Unknown gunmen wearing masks on Wednesday decamped with a 12-bore rifle after looting with cash of around two lakh rupees from a bank inChandanpora area of  Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Wearing of masks at public places has been made compulsory in South Kashmir's Shopian district to minimize the chances of further spread of Covid-19 while violators can be fined Rs 500. An order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the usage of masks has been made mandatory in view of the recent spike in Covid-19 positive cases across the country.
