‘Each Group to Remain Open for 3 Days Only’- Admin Issues Time Table for Shops in Jammu Kashmir

The Jammu Kashmir administration on Wednesday issued a time table dividing the markets into two groups and detailing that shops in each group will be open only for three days. BSF Wants FIR to be Registered Against Pakistani ‘Spy Pigeon’

The BSF has sought registration of an FIR against an intruder from Pakistan that happens to be a pigeon, The Punjab Police are seeking legal opinion on this. The pigeon perched itself on the shoulder of a Border Security Force jawan at the Rorawala post here last Saturday, apparently after flying across the border, an official said. A small piece of paper with a “contact number” was wrapped around its leg, the official said. The BSF personnel handed over the bird to the police with a demand in writing for taking legal action. Around 30 South Korean college students shaved their heads in protest after the news came in that the Japanese government has declared that it will release more than one million tonnes of treated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea. The protest was staged in front of the Japanese embassy in Seoul. The protest took place despite the ban on public gatherings of more than ten people. Update: 22 Covid Patients Die After Oxygen Leakage in Nashik

At least 22 Covid-19 patients lost their lives after leakage was reported from an oxygen tanker at a Nashik hospital. The incident took place at Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier this afternoon, a leakage was reported from an oxygen tanker while refilling, prompting the hospital and local administration officials to take measures to contain the leak. Although the leakage was fixed with the help of the fire department, the condition of patients on oxygen support in the meantime deteriorated and lost the battle against the virus. Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that leakage must have affected the supply of oxygen inside the hospital, adding that accountability will be fixed.

The Jammu Kashmir’s Grand Mufti Nasir ul-Islam Wednesday fixed Rs 62 as Sadqay-e-Fitr (mandatory charity) per person in the month of Ramadhan and urged people to pay the same till 15th of Ramadhan so that the money reaches needy and destitute amid Covid challenge. The Grand Mufti appealed to people given the rising cases of Covid-19, poor, destitute and needy aren’t able to move to seek donations. “So, I urge people of Kashmir to pay Sadqay-e-Fitr by 15th of Ramadhan so that the money reaches the needy and destitute well on time. Teenager dies by Suicide in Central Kashmir’s Budgam District

An eighteen-year-old boy ended his life by allegedly consuming  some poisonous substance at his home in Shogpora village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on intervening night of 20th April and 21st April. The youth identified as Danish Ahmad Kumar son of Farooq Ahmad Kumar resident of Shogpora village consumed some poisonous substance at his home. He was immediately rushed to nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, the official said. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have registered a case under various sections of law and taken up further investigations in this regard, the official added.

Three workers of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) have been allegedly kidnapped by a suspected Militant group from the Lakuwa tea estate under in Assam, the quint reported. Those abducted have been identified as Retul Saikia, Alakesh Saikia and Mohini Mohan Gogoi. As per the report, the development came days after banned Militant outfit ULFA released two employees of the Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited. They had been kidnapped from Arunachal Pradesh on 21 December. “According to preliminary investigation, a group of five armed militants were involved in the abduction,” Sivasagar SP Amitava Sinha said.
