India, Pakistan Held Secret Talks to Break Kashmir Deadlock

Top intelligence officials from India and Pakistan met and held secret talks in Dubai in January 2021 to calm the military tension over Kashmir,  Reuters quoted sources as saying. In its report, Reuters further claimed that Officials from India's Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) and Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) travelled to Dubai for a meeting facilitated by the United Arab Emirates government. 14000 Devotees Visit Vaishno Devi on Day One- 48 Test Positive for Covid 19

Amid a rise in COVID cases in Jammu Kashmir, over 14,000 devotees have arrived in Katra to take part in the yatra to Vaishno Devi Shrine during the Navratri festival out of which 48 devotees have tested positive for Coronavirus. The district administration in Reasi and Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has ordered strict implementation of the COVID protocols and also fixed the limit at 25,000 pilgrims per day. The Yatra had been suspended last year on March 16 after the outbreak of the pandemic only to resume after a gap of more than five months. The Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board had fixed a cap of 2,000 pilgrims per day. As many as 48 pilgrims from outside JK were found to be positive on day 1 of the festival till 5 pm.

A Muslim man namely Mohammad Umar along with other persons performed the last rites of an elderly man who succumbed due to the deadly coronavirus at a hospital in Bihar’s Darbhanga town. They took the step after the deceased’s son Abhishek Mishra refused to take his body. Umar said that after his son refused to perform his duty, we came out to perform the last rites of the deceased. With the help of some Hindu persons, we performed his last rites as per Hindu traditions, he added. Umar and others who participated in the last rites have gone into home quarantine until their test reports arrive. Similarly, two Muslim men known as Mukhtar and Babloo performed the last rites of six bodies at a Hindu crematorium in the Malegaon area of Maharashtra.

Danishwar Hameed Police Wednesday said that it arrested four persons including a militant in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat identified the arrested militant as Zeyan Javaid Dar, a resident of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. He added that on the disclosure of the arrested militant, three of his associates were also nabbed from the district. The trio who all hail from South Kashmir’s Shopian district have been identified as Zahid Nazir, Umer Yousuf and Muzaffar Ahmed.
