BJP Leader Attacked by Suspected Militants in Srinagar

Mir Junaid Suspected militants on Thursday attacked a BJP leader's residence at the Nowgam area of Srinagar. As per initial inputs received by The Kashmiriyat gunmen fired at the guard of BJP Leader, Anwar Hussain in the Aari Bagh area of Srinagar during which the guard sustained injuries. Identified as constable Rameez Raja belt number 794/s has been critically injured and referred to SMHS hospital in Srinagar for treatment. A BJP member upon being contacted said that the militants attacked the house of BJP leader Anwar Khan, who is the party’s district president for Baramulla and in charge of the  Kupwara district, he managed to escape the spot and foil the attack. Sources however told The Kashmiriyat that the attack was a weapon-snatching bid. Details rushing in.

14-Year-Old Girl to be the First Rohingya to be Deported from India

The minor girl who was detained a couple of years back for illegally entering India will be repatriated to Myanmar today. The 14-year-old girl is the first Rohingya national to be deported from India after being in the custody of Nivedita Nari Sangstha, a Silchar-based NGO. Despite rights groups voicing against any such move a team of eight Assam Police officials will formally repatriate a minor Rohingya girl to the neighboring country tomorrow. “The minor girl was handed over to the Assam Police by the NGO in the presence of the CWC. She was today taken to Moreh and will be handed over to the Myanmar authorities tomorrow,” The Assam Tribune quoted sources as saying.
