Danishwar Hameed At least two families have been rendered homeless on Sunday evening after massive fire engulfed Bonpora area of Shouch in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that fire broke out from the residential house of Abdul Rashid Peer at 3 pm on Sunday which rapidly spread to the nearby houses resulting in complete damage to two residential houses while one other house were partially damaged in the devastating inferno. They said that the fire was brought under control after a team of fire service department and police reached the spot. An official said that nobody was injured in the incident and the cause of the fire is being ascertained.

Police arrested a man with fake Indian currency notes amounting to over Rs 11 thousand from the Khanabal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The accused has been identified as Vikar Dar of Batengoo village of Anantnag. Sources told that the arrest and recovery of fake currency in the denomination of Rs 200 were made by a police party from police post Khanabal. The accused was arrested at a checkpoint. Microblogging site Twitter has deleted 52 tweets flagged by the Central Government for criticizing its handling of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Centre, however, has clarified that the tweets were flagged and deleted not because they were critical, but because they spread ‘fake News’. The tweets reportedly were posted by Congress’ Lok Sabha MP Revanth Reddy, Bengal minister Moloy Ghatak, actor Vineet Kumar Singh and filmmakers Vinod Kapri and Avinash Das.
