Covid 19- Admin Announces Lockdown in Jammu Kashmir from Tonight

In wake of the spike in the COVID-9 cases, the Jammu Kashmir government on Saturday ordered imposition of Corona curfew across the Union Territory from 08 PM tonight till April 26 morning. The announcement as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), was made by the office of the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha through its official twitter handle. It said that only essential and emergency services to be allowed while all the market and commercial institutions shall remain closed during the period. “Complete corona curfew to be observed in the Union Territory from 8PM, 24th April (Saturday) till 6AM, April 26 (Monday). Jammu Kashmir administration on Saturday said that 1705 beds have been specifically kept for the Covid patients in the Covid designated hospitals across the UT. As per the notification issued by the Deputy Director Planning Health and Medical Education Department, Gahndhi Nagar Hospital Jammu has 90 beds for Covid patients only while as CD Hospital Jammu has 110, MCH complex Gandhi Nagar Hospital Jammu 98, CHC Ramgarah 25, Old hospital Kishtwar 70, SDH Nagri Prole 30, CHC Chenani 80 and AH Ghagwal, Samba 08. “In total, 511 beds are available for Covid patients in various Jammu hospitals,” the notification reads. As Covid-19 see a steep rise on a daily basis, the Jammu Kashmir administration on Saturday designated twenty-three hospitals as dedicated hospitals for treatment including fifteen in the Kashmir division and eight in the Jammu division respectively.
