Admin Starts Vaccination Drive for Advocates in 8 Districts For 18-45 Years Age Group

Department of Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs has started special vaccination drive for advocates of eight districts of J&K in the age group of 18-45 years. The step has been taken as an immediate measure for ensuring that advocates, who are at greater risk of contracting infection owing to their vocation are vaccinated, a statement issued here by the Department said. It said that for vaccination of advocates, special camps are being organized in districts. It added that in the first phase, besides Jammu Srinagar districts, vaccination shall be carried out in Anantnag, Baramulla and Budgam districts in Kashmir division and Kathua, Udhampur and Rajouri districts in Jammu division from May 24 to May 26, 2021.

Amid the rising cases of Black Fungus or Mucormycosis infection in various states of India, a case of Yellow Fungus infection has been reported from Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad city, reported DNA. As per the report, the infected patient is undergoing treatment at a Ghaziabad hospital currently. Yellow Fungus is considered more dangerous than both Black Fungus and White Fungus. The symptoms of Yellow Fungus are laziness, weight loss and loss of appetite, or no appetite at all. Yellow Fungus can also cause leakage of pus, slow healing of the open wound or slow healing of all wounds, malnutrition, organ failure and sunken eyes due to eventual necrosis in serious cases, reads the report.

The administration of Jammu Kashmir on Monday declared black fungus or mucormycosis as an epidemic disease under the Epidemic Diseases Act- 1897.
