Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in Jammu Kashmir as in just 11 days of the ensuing month, 564 deaths were reported in the Union Territory. As per the data available from May 01-11 J&K has reported 564 deaths which includes 200 from Kashmir division and 364 from Jammu division. “On first May, J&K reported 46 deaths which includes 17 from Kashmir division and 29 from Jammu and on May 02 J&K reported 41 deaths which includes 11 from Kashmir and 28 from Jammu,” the figures reveal. Reports of sexual harassment and callousness of hospital staff from one of the worst affected states Bihar. One youth killed, another injured in an accident in Baramulla

Sajad Hameed One youth was killed and another was injured in an accident in the Kunzer area of Baramulla on Tuesday morning. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a Maruti two persons were traveling in (JK01R-9304) collided with a tipper bearing the number JK03B 2973 near Wussan Kunzer area of Baramulla. The collision resulted in injuries to two persons while one of them succumbed to his injuries. The deceased was identified as Irshad Ahmed son of Farooq Ahmed Ahangar of Wahipora Tangmarg while the injured was identified as Maqsood Ahmed son of Ali Mohammed Ahanger. The official said that a case has been registered and the Police are looking out for the driver who fled the spot.

3 Militants Killed in Ongoing Anantnag Encounter

Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah Three Militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter that broke out between militants and Government forces in the Vailoo area of Kokernag in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official confirming the exchange of gunfire said that a joint team of Government Forces including Indian Army’s 19 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a Cordon and search operation (CASO)following inputs about militant presence in the Vailoo area of Anantnag. As soon as the forces moved closer to the suspected spot, the Militants opened fire, to which the forces retaliated, the official said. Three Militants have been killed during the exchange of gunfire, who are yet to be identified. As per the latest reports, the search operation is still going on.
