Covid 19- Closure of Educational Institutes Extended till May 31

EDUCATION
The Jammu Kashmir administration on Sunday said that the closure of educational institutes in Jammu Kashmir has been extended. "All Universities, Colleges and technical / skill development institutions in J&K to remain closed till May 31. All schools, coaching centers in J&K to remain closed till May 31. Religious places of worship to remain open," J&K Govt. Earlier the administration extended the lockdown in the erstwhile state till 6 May to stop the spread of the covid virus.

Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class Boniyar, in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has issued an order, asking lawyers not to address him as ‘your lordship’ or ‘your honor’ but simply say ‘Sir’ while addressing him in the court of law. The Judge while describing the words like ‘your lordship’ ‘my lord’ or ‘your honor’ of divine nature said these words belong to ‘Lord’ (Almighty Allah) only. “It is hereby for the information of all lawyers that they may not address me as, “Your Lordship”, “My Lord” or “Your Honor”, as such words are of divine nature and belong to the Lord only. Therefore, lawyers are directed to rather use the word “Sir” in place of such words. Danishwar Hameed A residential house was gutted in a massive fire Matalhama in area of South Kashmir’s kulgam district on Sunday morning. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the fire broke out at around 10:30 am and soon after the fire broke out locals reached the spot and tried to douse the flames, however, they failed to do so. He said that a residential house that belonged to Abdul Rashid Reshi was destroyed in the devastating fire. The immediate causes of the fire were not known, however no injuries were reported from the incident.

Man Commits Suicide in Shopian Kashmir

Meer Irfan A man has allegedly committed suicide in the Pinjoora area of Shopian in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning, the family members of the person (name withheld) was found dead inside his house, after which his family rushed him to the hospital. Upon his arrival at the hospital, he was declared brought dead by the doctors, the official said, adding, "after the completion of medical and legal formalities, the body will be handed over to the family members for last rites." Locals said that he is survived by two minor children and a wife. Meanwhile, the police official said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard and further investigation has been initiated.
