A 17-year-old youth on Thursday was electrocuted to death near Shalimar garden in Srinagar. A Special Police Officer (SPO) was killed while forest guard was injured in a road accident near High School Manoie in Tehsil Chilli Pingal (Bhalessa) of Doda district. A police official told  that a Swift car bearing registration number JK02CM-0885 met with an accident at Manoie in which one SPO identified as Ashok Kumar (1053/SPO) posted at Spp Malikpora died on spot and another forest guard namely Muahmmad Ashraf , son of Muhammad Shafi Zargar of Bhaderwah was injured. Stating that the situation in Jammu Kashmir has shown a significant improvement, the Army on Thursday said that "all the parameter of violence have come down by 50 percent" in Kashmir while the number of active militants is 200 but this figure will be further reduced by the end of this year. A 55-year-old shepherd is feared dead after he slipped into a nallah at a forest area near Tresangam in north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Thursday. Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a shepherd identified as Noor-Udin Chopan, son of Muhammad Sultan of Ajas Matipora has slipped and fell down along with his horse into Nallah near Tresangam forests. They said that the incident occurred near the Tresangam forests area when he was crossing the Nallah.
