On Wednesday, the Pakistani Senate passed a joint resolution in the wake of the 'All Parties Meeting of Jammu Kashmir' leaders on June 24, 2021. Various opposition parties and the Pakistani government came together to pass the Resolution. The statement "reiterates its strongest condemnation of the Indian Government's grossly illegal actions" after August, 2019. The statement calls upon to enable the people of Kashmir to exercise their inalienable right of self-determination in accordance with the UNSC resolutions. Further, the statement demands reversion to the pre August 5 status and the release of all political prisoners. The New York Times in a report on Tuesday, stated that the four members of the Saudi hit squad that killed the US-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the year 2018 had received paramilitary training in the US, and that the training had been approved by the State Department. Khashoggi who was a Saudi born US resident, was murdered on October 2, 2018 in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul by a team of agents sent from Saudi Arabia. He wrote for the Washington Post and also was an outspoken critic of the Saudi leadership, with which he had once been close.
