9 of family suffer burn injuries in gas cylinder explosion at Udhampur

At least nine members of a family suffered burn injuries after a domestic gas cylinder exploded in Pancheri area of Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir late on Wednesday evening. Police told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that fire broke out in a double-story house belonging to Mansa Ram in Lander Barinda, Tehsil, Panchari at around 08:00 PM. In the fire incident, a domestic gas cylinder exploded, resulting in injuries to nine members of a family, who were trying to douse the flames. Five of the injured were taken to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Lander where from they were referred to District Hospital Udhampur. 2 Dead, 8 Injured in Kupwara Road Accident

Two persons, one of them an 8-month-old baby and a 90-year-old man, were killed, while eight persons were injured when a sumo they were travelling in met with an accident near Jabdi area in Kupwara district of north Kashmir on Thursday. Official sources told GNS that a sumo vehicle (JK05B-8799) driven by one Yaseen Shah met with accident at Baghbella Jabdi, resulting into on the spot death of Sadar Ali Shah (90) son of Fazilali Shah of Bijaldar jabdi and Afan (8-month- old). Three relatives of a 20-year-old Muslim woman have been arrested in Barabanki district after they allegedly assaulted her and shaved her head for marrying a Dalit man. The incident took place last week and the police booked eight family members, including three women, on the victim’s complaint.
