Police in Zainapora, Shopain have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 10kg fukki (poppy husk) from his possession. A vehicle bearing number JK13A-3927 was also seized. The police arrested one person while the other managed to escape. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Javeed Ahmed Dar S/O Abdul Rasheed Dar. The J&K police have registered a case under FIR number 63/2021/8/15-29. Acting on a tip-off, J&K Police laid a trap at the Zainapora area of Shopain, arrested the drug peddler, recovered 10kg Fukki and seized the vehicle.

India saw a total of 109 internet shutdowns in 2020, highest in the world. Yemen followed with only six. Jammu Kashmir administration has directed that no person can take government job without the verification report of CID. The Jammu Kashmir Civil Services (Verification of Character and Antecedents) Directions, 1997 have been amended by the Administration, after which now the verification report of CID will be required for the job in government department. According to an official order to get the verification report from the CID, the person will also need to state whether any member of his family or close relative is associated with any political party or organization, has participated in any political activity or not, whether or not associated with any foreign mission or organization and whether there is a connection with any banned organizations. Mehbooba Mufti, the Peoples Democratic Party President has said that the abrogation of article-370 and 35A has weakened India in Kashmir and strengthened the separatist sentiment in Kashmir. Unknown persons on Tuesday afternoon hurled a petrol bomb at Police Station Khanyar in down town area of Srinagar, However, no injury was reported in the incident.
