The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday said that they cannot participate in the ongoing delimitation process in Jammu and Kashmir as the party at present has no incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) as well as the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). The party, while addressing a presser, also demanded revocation of the decision to charge property tax from the dwellers living within the jurisdiction of Srinagar Cantonment Board. On Thursday, the Kavaratti police booked the filmmaker and actress Aisha Sultana with charges of sedition and hate speech, on the complaint of BJP Lakshadweep wing president C Abdul Khader Haji, about her remarks on the Covid-19 situation in the UT at a panel discussion on a Malayalam news channel. Abdul Khader, in his complaint, alleged that Ms. Sultana, a native of Chetlat Island, had said that the Centre was using the Covid-19 as a 'bio-weapon' against the people of Lakshadweep. The Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday asked the Muslim community in the state to adopt a “decent family planning” policy to deal with poverty and other social problems, the Hindustan Times reported. “We want to work with the minority Muslim community to control population,” he said while speaking at a press conference to mark the completion of 30 days of his government. “The root cause of issues such as poverty, land encroachment, etc, lies in uncontrolled population growth. Youth Critically Injured After Stabbed In Srinagar’s Noor Bagh Locality

A 24-year-old youth has sustained critical injuries after stabbed by some unknown persons here in Noor Bagh locality this evening. Reports  said that the boy was outside his residence, when some unknown persons caught hold of him and stabbed him in his lower abdomen. Alerted by the cries of teenage boy, some passersby came to rescue, however the culprits managed to escape the spot till then. The boy has been identified as Huzaif Ahmad Mattoo, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Mattoo, a resident of Palpora Pamposh Colony. The boy was immediately evacuated to SMHS Hospital Srinagar, where his conditions continue to remain highly unstable. 50-Year-Old Ayub Khan Dies After being Tortured in Custody in Haryana
