A recent Reuters report about the analysis by a German researcher states that the birth control policies imposed by China could cut between 2.6 to 4.5 million births of the Uyghur and other ethnic minorities in Southern Xinjiang within the coming 20 years. This makes about a third of the region's projected minority. Massive Fire Breaks out at Vaishno Devi Shrine

A massive fire broke out at the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon in the cash-counting and another area. Officials said that the smoke appeared atop Trikuta hills, where the ancient temple is situated. 22-Year-Old from Anantnag Slips to Death in Aharbal Waterfall

Danishwar Hameed A 22-year-old youth died after he accidentally fell into the Aharbal waterfall in the Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that Suhaib Ahmad Dar aged 22, son of Shabir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shangus visited Aharbal waterfall along with his friends fell accidentally into the waterfall on Tuesday afternoon. A 62-year-old woman, who was among the 220 Rohingya Muslims detained in a ‘holding centre’ at Hiranagar Jammu, died of post-COVID complications at a hospital in Jammu Kashmir’s Kathua district on Monday, reports said quoting officials. Noor Aisha, wife of Nazir Hussain, was among around 220 Rohingya refugees, including women and children, who were detained from their camps, claiming them to be living illegally.
