Covid 19- 29 Deaths, 1801 Fresh Cases Reported in Last 24 Hours

Jammu Kashmir reported 1801 fresh covid-19 cases while 29 more people succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Thursday. They said 554 of these cases were confirmed in the Jammu division and 1247 in Kashmir Valley, taking the total case tally to 295879. Regarding the deaths, they said, 15 were reported from the Jammu division and 14 from Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count to 3992 so far since the outbreak of the pandemic. Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla said to have recovered a huge quantity of walnut timber from Wanigam and Palhallan areas in this North Kashmir district on Wednesday last. The army on Thursday said that it was ready for the Amarnath Yatra and has taken all necessary steps for it even as the decision to conduct the annual pilgrimage to the cave shrine lies with civil administration. On 22 April, the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), which organizes the annual yatra, announced to “temporarily” suspending pilgrims' registration for the pilgrimage.
