Police on Tuesday issued statement post Encounter in Peth Seer North Kashmir's Sopore. In a statement to GNS, the police said that during the intervening night of 23/24 August, based on specific input generated by Police regarding presence of militants in Pethseer area of Sopore, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Sopore Police, Army(52RR ) and CRPF in the said area. During the search operation as the presence of militants got ascertained, they were given opportunity to surrender, however, instead they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party which was retaliated leading to an encounter. Police Station Kulgam received a written complaint for assistance from a complainant stating that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped by one person namely Muntazir Ahmad Shakhsaz S/O Mohammad Yaqoob Shakhsaz a resident of Chawalgam. Indian Army Organises South Kashmir’ Sports Festival- 2021 at Pulwama

As part of South Kashmir Sports Festival 2021, 55 RR and Shahid Lala Committee are conducting “Kashmir Premier League”, an Inter-District Cricket Tournament at Pulwama Cricket Stadium. Body of 36-Yr-Old Female Teacher Found Around Near Her Home In Poonch

The body of a 36-year-old female teacher was found around 100 meters from her residence in Poonch district on Tuesday, officials said. They said “injury marks” were visible on the body of the teacher identified as Shanaz Akhter (teacher) wife of Mohammad Irfan of Keri Gursai. Confirming it, SHO Gurasi Niaz Ahmad told GNS postmortem is being conducted at Government Sub-district hospital Mendhar. He said that “there are visible injury marks” on the body of the teacher, who was posted at government middle school Keri Gulthan in the Balakote Mendhar area of the district. The proceedings under 174 CrpC have been initiated into the incident. (GNS)

On Monday night, Israel launched a series of airstrikes on several areas in the Gaza strip, local sources said. Israel's fighter jets carried out a fresh series of airstrikes last night on the Gaza Strip. No casualties were reported amidst the bombing. This was the latest episode in the ongoing Israeli escalation on the besieged enclave. The Israeli warplanes fired at least 3 missiles at a target in Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip, and fired drop flare shells over eastern Rafah. The Israeli jets also struck an empty agricultural land, in the al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza city. In retaliation, the Local sources said that the Resistance anti-craft artillery retaliated to Israeli strikes and targeted Israeli aircraft over eastern Beit Hanoun.

Israeli Forces Shot dead a 16-Year-Old Palestinian child in Nablus

During a night raid on Tuesday, the Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian child in Balata camp, east of Nablus in West Bank. While the Israeli forces carried a detention raid on the camp on Tuesday, they shot down a 16-year-old teenager, Imad Hashhash. As per a report by QNN, Hashhash was quickly rushed to a hospital for urgent medical treatment but he was announced dead later. As per QNN, Hashhash's killing by the Israeli forces brought the death toll of Palestinian children killed by Israel to 78 since the start of 2021, of which 12 were killed in the West Bank and 66 in the Gaza Strip.
