Army Helicopter Crash: Navy Drivers Undertake Searches To Trace Missing Pilots

Army on Wednesday pressed navy drivers into service to trace pilot and co-pilot of a helicopter of Indian Army's aviation corps which crashed near the Ranjit Sagar Dam in the Basohli area of Kathua yesterday, officials said. The helicopter crashed around 1020 hours on Tuesday. Later teams of Police and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) rushed to the site and started rescue operations. However the success eluded them till evening when the operation was called off due to darkness. This morning, Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand, Defence PRO based in Jammu, told GNS that navy divers were pressed into service to find out the missing pilots. So far some helicopter parts were recovered along with a helmet, two big size bags and one shoe, the officials said. (GNS)

Dozens of famous springs located in South Kashmir’s Tral belt are on the verge of getting extinct owing to the locals and officials' ignorance over the years. Many springs which were once the main source of water for the residents are in a pathetic condition and authorities aren’t taking any steps to clean or restore them. Two Teenage Girls go Missing from Bijbehara Area

Two teen aged girls have gone missing from south Kashmir’s Bijbehara village. Both girls are 14 years old and are residents of Gadhanjipora village of Bijbehara in Anantnag district. Police sources said that fathers of these teen aged girls-Ali Muhammad Dar and Farooq Ahmed Dar filed written complaints at police station Bijbehara stating that their daughters (name withheld) are missing from their homes since Monday (2 August). Police took cognizance of these missing reports and registered an FIR vide number 222/2021 under relevant sections of law. Police have constituted a team to trace these missing young girls.
