BJP to Hoist Indian Flag at Divisional Levels Across Kashmir on the Anniversary of Abrogation of Article 370

On August 5, on the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370, the BJP in Jammu Kashmir has said that they will organize a program to hoist the tricolour flag at every divisional level of the region. "Sweets will be fed to the workers and citizens participating in this program," Ravinder Raina said. He said that the BJP will celebrate the second anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 with festivity. The national flag will be hoisted on behalf of the party at the divisional level in districts across Jammu Kashmir. Apart from this, senior party leaders and prominent workers will participate in the program at the party headquarters.

ICC Dismisses BCCI’s request over Kashmir Premier League

International Cricket Council (ICC) has dismissed India’s request against KPL. According to International Cricket Council, it has no jurisdiction over Kashmir Premier League (KPL), as it’s not an international cricket tournament. ICC’s response came after the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) approached the governing body to take action against the tournament. Prior, BCCI had cautioned and undermined international players partaking in the tournament that they won’t be permitted to participate in any cricketing related activities in India. BCCI then approached ICC and asked them to drop the tournament based on matches being played in the disputed area.

A helicopter of the Indian Army has crashed in Jammu Kashmir's Kathua district on Tuesday morning. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that the helicopter fell down in the Ranjit Sagar dam after a technical glitch in the helicopter. Officials meanwhile have said that the chopper crashed at around 11.00 am and had at least 5 persons onboard at Purthu in Basohli. The search for the missing persons is underway, officials said.

A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Chandaji area of North kashmir's Bandipora district on Tuesday morning. A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a Joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation after “specific inputs” about the presence of militants in forest area of Chandaji. “As the security forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter,” he said.
