An Earthquake Of 4.2 Magnitude Hits Leh

On Monday, an earthquake of magnitude 4.2 on the Richter scale struck Leh's Alchi, the National Centre for Seismology informed. The NCS reported that the tremors were felt in 89 kilometres of SW of Alchi at 9:16 am. "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.2, Occurred on 13-09-2021, 09:16:46 IST, Lat: 33.65 and Long: 76.50, Depth: 5 Km, Location: 89km SW of Alchi (Leh), Jammu and Kashmir, India," tweeted NCS.

Covid-19: Police Conducts Drive of Checking Vaccination Certificates & CAB in Baramulla

Police on Monday started a drive to check vaccinated shopkeepers by checking their vaccination certificate in North Kashmir's Baramulla district. In a statement to GNS, the police said that to enforce Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) in the District, today Baramulla Police under the supervision of Junaid Wali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr. Mohd Ashraf, SHO Police station Uri and Inspector Amardeep Parihar, SHO Police station Bijhama conducted a drive in some market areas and checked vaccination certificates of shopkeepers and shoppers in markets. Nearly 6 Grenades Found Outside QAT Bunker in Bemina

At least six grenades were found near QAT bunker of 28 battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that after finding something suspicious, a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team was called immediately. They said that BDS squad of 73 battalion  has reached the spot, saying that nearly six to seven grenades have been found near the QAT bunker—(KNO)

Ministry of External Affairs Asks for Report on Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s Burial

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has asked for an elaborate report from the Jammu Kashmir police on the burial of the late Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, The Hindu reported. Geelani passed away on September 1, at the age of 92 after a prolonged illness at his Hyderpora, Srinagar residence. In order to prevent people from gathering, curfew like restrictions were imposed in the valley and Geelani was buried in the middle of the night.
