After Mehbooba Mufti’s Letter, Press Council of India Constitutes Fact Finding Team to Investigate Harassment of Journalists in Kashmir
On Wednesday, (September 29), the Press Council of India responded to the former C.M. Mehbooba Mufti's letter, wherein, she had urged the organization to "send a fact-finding team to J&K, to independently verify" the claims of "intimidation, snooping and harassment of journalists" in the erstwhile state and "take remedial action."
The Press Council of India informed in the latest order, a copy of which lies with The Kashmiriyat, that the Chair, taking suo-motu cognizance on the matter "concerning intimidation and harassment of journalists in Jammu Kashmir, has constituted a three member Fact Finding Committee."
