Mysterious Blast In Rajouri: Army Officer, Soldier Succumb To Wounds

Two soldiers, one of them lieutenant ranked, succumbed to critical injuries in a mysterious explosion along the Line of Control in Rajouri district on Saturday afternoon, official sources said. They told GNS that during a routine patrolling near forward location in Lam sector of Noweshra in Rajouri district a mysterious explosion took place which left two soldiers including the lieutenant, grievously injured. Both the injured were evacuated to the hospital in a critical condition, they further said. However, both of them succumbed to the injuries. (GNS)

In a tragic incident, a young lady died of a heart attack around 15 days before her wedding in Rohmoo area of Pulwama district. The 26-year-old lady identified as Sumaya Qadir, daughter of Gh Qadir Dar of Astan Pora Rohmoo according to the family members died without showing any complications. “She did not even show any pain, it was all of a sudden, we could not even take her to the hospital,” a close neighbour and relative of the deceased said. The cost of the Ujh Multipurpose Project has increased to Rs 2741 crore making the cost of the project Rs 11908 crore. Earlier its cost was Rs 9167 crore. In January, India’s environment ministry’s expert panels have recommended clearance for the Ujh multipurpose hydroelectric project in the Kathua region of Jammu Kashmir for which 214,502 trees in the ecologically sensitive area will need to be cut. Ninety percent funding of the project is done by the central government and 10 percent by the state. Sheikh Nadeem Another 50 MVA transformer will be installed on December 21 to provide adequate Power supply to area. At least 200 villages in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district are set to gain benefits from the Lissar Power Grid Station, which is on final stage. The Power Grid Station is being constructed under the Prime Ministers Reconstruction Programme (PMRP). Within the coming two months, grid station will be commissioned. Villages such as Kokernag, Verinag, breng, Lissar and many more will now be provided uninterrupted electricity. The power grid station has a capacity of 50 MVA with a rating of 132/33KV. A.E.
