Two unidentified militant have been killed in a Gunfight at Feeripora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. Official sources told GNS, that two militants have been killed in the gunfight, however identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained. Earlier Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Feeripora on Monday. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight. Pertinently today morning three militants were killed in Tulran area of Shopian.(GNS)

The students demanded a special exam for backlogs which had put their degrees on halt. They had written an application, in this regard, to the HOD Law department, a copy of which lies with The Kashmiriyat. The application, written by the "ex-students of the aforesaid department" stated that most of the students were facing issues in the "end results of 1st to 10th semesters." Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday carried raid at the house of Baseer Ahmad Khan, a week after he was relieved as advisor to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. Official sources told GNS that a team of CBI from New Delhi along accompanied by local police carried the raid at the house of Basheer Ahmed Khan, a retired IAS officer, at Bulbul Bagh Baghat here. Meer Irfan An encounter has raged between militants and government forces in Feripora in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday morning. Sources said a joint team of Army’s RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation in Shopian on early Monday morning. As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter. A senior police officer upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that the exchange of fire between the joint team and the militants. As per the sources, two to three militants of Militant are believed to be trapped.
