Rayees Shah The residents of Gund and adjoining villages expressed their discontent at the lack of basic diagnostic facilities at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Gund area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. A local, Rayaz Ahmad talking to The Kashmiriyat said that the centre was of no use because lack of facilities and insufficient staff to run the PHC caused the locals a lot of trouble. He said that only a handful of doctors and staff members were not sufficient for over 30 villages of Gund area. A Spokesman of the National Conference confirming the development to The Kashmiriyat said that, "Dr Farooq Abdullah has received and accepted the resignations of Mr Salathia & Mr Rana." Former MLA Surjeet Singh Salathia who was a prominent face of National Conference from Jammu has also resigned from the basic membership of the party. Both the National Conference leaders are likely to join BJP tomorrow in Jammu.

35-Year-Young Man’s Body Recovered in Srinagar

The Body of a 35-year-old man was recovered at Harnabal Padshahi bagh in central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Sunday. Reports said that body was spotted by some passersby and they immediately informed concerned police station which took the body into custody. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Maqbool Khan (35) son of Abdul Rasheed Khan of Charlipora Nowgam. After a gap of nearly five months, Jammu Kashmir Police’s elite anti-Militancy unit Special Operations Group (SOG), whose headquarter is in ‘Cargo’ Srinagar, has got a Superintendent of Police to head it, the Print reported Sunday. Iftikhar Talib Superintendent of Jammu Kashmir Police will head the Special Operations group. Tahir Ashraf, the last SP who headed the Special Operations groups was transferred to another place earlier this year. Man Brutally Assaults 34-Year-old Niece to Death in Anantnag

Waris Shah One woman was murdered after being allegedly assaulted by her uncle in the Aishmuqam area of Anantnag in South Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a man assaulted his niece identified as Shameema Bano (34), wife of Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, a resident of Nagbal area in Aishmuqam's Hapatnad area, resulting in critical injuries to her. Shameema was shifted to the Seer hospital in Anantnag, however, upon her arrival she was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The uncle has been identified as Gulaam Khan son of Shabaaz khan, a resident of Nagbal Hapatnad, the official said. He said that the Jammu Kashmir Police have lodged an FIR in this regard and launched investigation into the matter.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has summoned 40 teachers on Sunday in connection with civilian target killings here, the investigation of which the agency has formally taken over from the local police. Top officials of the IB, including Tapan Deka, the head of counter terrorism wing in the agency are camping in Srinagar under the directions of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who has taken a serious note of the civilian killings by the terrorists. Two persons were killed and nine others injured in two separate road accidents in Udhampur district of Jammu, officials said on Sunday. They said driver of a tempo died and nine passengers onboard it were injured after the vehicle collided in a truck (tralla) on Dhar road at Gole Mela, Udhampur. National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday raided multiple locations in Jammu Kashmir in two different cases already registered by the probing agency. Reliable sources told News Agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that sleuths of NIA along with CRPF raided the house of Nayeem Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Aaripora Zewan who is working as driver in Hassan Road Construction Company owned by Ghulam Hassan.
