All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC) has strongly condemned the killing of two government teachers Surinder Kour and Deepak Chand at Eidgah in downtown Srinagar on Thursday. Teacher Surinder Kour was a local and resident of Aloochi Bagh. In a statement, APSCC Chairman Jagmohan Singh Raina has said that the killings are part of the conspiracy hatched to create a wedge among the majority and minority communities living in the Kashmir valley. 3 Leopard cubs rescued in Rajouri, to be reunited with mother once it’s found

The wildlife department rescued three leopard cubs, spotted in an under-construction water storage tank by the people in a remote Shahpur village in Rajouri district, on Thursday. Officials told GNS that a team of wildlife department rescued the cubs, about 5-6 months old, by firstly tranquilising them. They were later brought to Rajouri Headquarters in a cage for treatment and observation. Mother-daughter duo dies in mysterious house fire in Surankote Poonch

A 50-year-old woman and her 18-year-old daughter died when their house caught fire in Surankote area of Poonch district during the intervening night of October 6 and 7, officials said. They said the fire erupted around 003 hours in the house of one Muzaffer Hussain Shah son of Sadiq Hussain Shah at Qazi Katha, Morah Bachai in Surankote. Shah’s wife Sharifa Bi (50) and daughter Tahira Kouser (18) died on spot due to burn injuries, they said. The blaze was later brought under control by fire tenders, they said. A police party reached the spot and have started investigations, they said. It has been learnt that the family has alleged that the fire was orchestrated. Reports reaching GNS said that the blaze broke out this afternoon and soon after engulfed several residential houses besides few other structures. The fire tenders are on spot, however, the flames continued to rage – when this report was being filed.
