Suhail Dar A 20-year-old youth drowned to death in the river Lidder in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a youth identified as Anees Ahmed Dar son of Gulzar Ahmed Dar, a resident of Srinagar's Eidgah area slipped and drowned in River Lidder in Pahalgam on Sunday afternoon. The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in Saharanpur has ordered a probe into the alleged custodial death of a 40-year-old farmer. The DIG has asked the Muzaffarnagar police to lead the investigation, following a request by the man’s cousin, Syed Isa Raza, a former minister, who said that the inquiry should not be handed to the Saharanpur police. The alleged incident took place on September 5 when the police had raided Thitki village after a tip-off on alleged cow slaughter.
