75-year-old woman died of Covid-19 in Sopore

Shabir Khan A 75-year-old woman died of Covid-19 on Tuesday afternoon at Sub District hospital in  Sopore division of Baramulla district in North Kashmir. A hospital official said that the lady died at the SDH Sopore of Covid-19 that is showing a surge for the last few weeks. He said that the woman, a resident of the Seloo area in Sopore who was admitted to the hospital on 27 November 2021 succumbed to Covid-19  on Tuesday.

Cold conditions continued in Kashmir Valley and Ladakh with Srinagar, the summer capital of J&K, recording minus 1.5°C against previous night’s minus 0.2°C. A meteorological department official here told GNS that the minimum temperature was minus 0.6 below normal for this time of the year. On November 23, the mercury settled at minus 2.3°C in Srinagar which is lowest temperature recorded so far this season in the city. Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.4°C against minus 2.0°C on the previous night, he said. A plastic factory was reduced to ashes in industrial area of SIDCO Lassipora in Pulwama district in a massive fire that broke out on Monday late night. A young woman was forced to remove her Burqa by Hindutva gang in Islamnagar area of Bhopal as she was passing by the area with her male friend on scooty. A video of the incident has appeared over the social media which shows the mob harassing the woman, who was accompanied by a man, for wearing a burqa. The man, who was with the woman, tried to resist, but the mob forced her to take off her burqa anyway. As per  reports, the woman did not file a complaint regarding the incident. The police detained two persons in this regard who were released later since no charges have been added in the matter as of now.
