Shah Basit An 8-year-old boy was injured after he was attacked by a wild bear in Dadrembagh area of Serch in Ganderbal district on Monday An official told The Kashmiriyat that a boy identified as Farhaan Khan, son of Javaid Ahmad Khan of Dadrembagh Serch was injured when a bear attacked him he was playing in the lawn of his house. He was shifted to District Hospital Ganderbal for the treatment wherefrom he was referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment.

Pak Hands Over Man Missing From 21 Weeks Via LoC Crossing Point In Poonch

Pakistan Army on Monday handed over a resident of Poonch to Indian counterparts in presence of civil officials at Chaka Da Bag crossing point here, the official said. They told GNS that the person identified as Saif Din son of Ghulam Mohammad Loon of Gagrian (Dhana) Sawjian was handed over by the Pakistan army to Indian counterparts in presence of the Magistrate (Naib Tehsildar) deputed for the task. While the man was missing from last 21 weeks, it was not immediately known when he had crossed over to Pakistan Administered Kashmir via Line of Control and his subsequent apprehension by Pakistan army. October Witnesses’ Highest number of Casualties in Jammu Kashmir- 45 Killed

This year October turned out the bloodiest month in which 45 persons were killed in militancy related incidents in Jammu Kashmir. Data available with news agency Kashmir News Trust reveals that 20 militants, 12 army soldiers and 13 civilians lost their lives in the month of October. From casualty point of view, October turns out the deadliest month. In October, 20 militants were neutralized, though the highest number of militants killed this year was in the month of July and the count was 31. Among the 13 civilians killed in October, 2 were shot dead at security check-points while 11 were killed by suspected militants. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti was put under house yet again when she was planning to visit the residence of slain youth Shahid Ahmed Rather who was shot dead under suspicious circumstances by CRPF at Shopian. Shahid Ahmad Rather, a resident of the Arwani area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. A daily-wage labourer, Shahid was reportedly hired by a farmer in Shopian to help with harvesting the apple crop. Twenty-five people have been arrested by the National Intelligence Service for aiding terrorists in Kashmir since the ast few weeks. On the 10th of last month, the National Investigating Agency filed a case alleging that Militants belonging to movements including Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen were plotting to carry out attacks in Kashmir. Twenty-three people were arrested by the NIA in Kashmir on the basis of aiding and abetting these militants. Two more people have been arrested in connection with the case. A spokesman for the National Intelligence Agency said that the 25 were supporters of Militants and provided assistance to the militant groups.

Ahead of Diwali, inflation bomb exploded yet again. After petrol and diesel, LPG prices were increased by Rs 265 per cylinder. After this hike, commercial cylinder price in Delhi crossed Rs 2,000 mark. Earlier, it was being sold at Rs 1,733. In Mumbai, a 19 kg commercial cylinder, which was sold at Rs 1,683, now costs Rs 1,950 after today's hike. In Kolkata, a 19-kg commercial cylinder now costs Rs 2,073.50 and in Chennai price of this product has increased to Rs 2,133. In this year so far, domestic LPG cylinder prices have increased from Rs 694 in January to Rs 899.50 now after eight straight increases.
