Say 1.55 Cr amount protected from being swindled through cyber frauds Amid a massive increase in cybercrimes, the Cyber police station Srinagar has given a tough time to cyber criminals by protecting an amount of Rs 1,55,83,923 from being swindled through cyber frauds. Cyber police annual record, an amount of Rs 1,55,83,923 was prevented from being swindled. A man from Gursai village of Poonch's Mendhar sub division sustained gunshot injuries after he was shot at by one of his relatives in Sangla village of Surankote in Poonch, officials said Friday. “The injured has been identified as Mohammad Muzamil Shah son of Nazik Shah resident of Gursai Mendhar,” an official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO). 123 fresh covid-19 cases, 2 deaths reported in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir reported 123 fresh covid-19 cases while two persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday. 58 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and 65 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 341290. Two deaths, one each from Jammu division and Kashmir were reported due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4528 persons—2199 in Jammu and 2329 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said. The Authorities at Government Lalla Ded Hospital, Srinagar today refuted the news item ‘24 patients test Covid-19 positive at LD Hospital, Srinagar’ published in a daily English newspaper on December 22, 2021. As per the statement issued here, the news item has been called fake, misinformation and it has been made clear that only seven patients had tested positive during the routine sampling and testing, out of which six were sent to home isolation in view of being asymptomatic and only one was shifted for observation in designated isolation facility of this hospital as the patient was in the labor room. Jammu Kashmir Police DG Dilbag Singh on Friday asserted that Hyderpora encounter was "transparent" and that political leaders who have been questioning the "clean chit" given to the forces should submit evidence to the investigation panels. "We have made it clear Hyderpora operation was transparent. If they have evidence, they should present it to the investigation panels," he said at a press conference on asked about the political leaders' comments against the probe by the local police. "We feel hurt about the utterances," Singh added. The top cop also said the political leaders' comments are unlawful and the law will take its own course in the matter. PTI

PDD Daily wager electrocuted in Anantnag, dies

Sheikh Nadeem A daily wager of the Power Development Department was electrocuted to death on Friday afternoon in the Anantnag district of south Kashmir. An official told The Kashmiriyat that Sawlat Bhat son of Mohammed Rafiq Bhat aged around 28 was repairing a faulty line in the Buchoo area of Dooru when he was electrocuted. He was shifted to the hospital, where the doctors declared her 'brought dead' on arrival, the official said. The Police have taken cognizance of the incident and taken up further investigations.
