Authorities in Kupwara district have detained three persons including a Sarpanch under Public Safety Act for their alleged involvement in narcotics peddling in the north Kashmir district. A warrant under Public Safety Act against trio was issued by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir after PSA dossier were submitted by Jammu and Kashmir police. Sharing details, a police officer told GNS that trio was involved in “narcotics peddling in rampant ways and were continuously indulging in this crime by trying to lure local youth towards drugs”. 128 youth joined militancy in Kashmir in 2021; 73 of them killed during encounters

As 2021 is drawing to an end, 168 militants along with 34 civilians and 30 uniformed men were killed in Kashmir Valley alone during the year, according to officials. 128 youth also joined militant ranks and 70 percent of them were either killed or arrested, a senior police officer told GNS. He said that among 168 militants killed, 19 were foreigners. “A total of 128 youth joined militant ranks till date. Out of them, 73 were killed in encounters while 16 others were arrested,” he said. NIA conducts raid in Srinagar’s Zaldagar area

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday morning conducted a raid in the Zaldagar area of Kashmir capital Srinagar. Official sources told Srinagar-based news agency, KDC that sleuths of NIA accompanied by contingents of J&K Police raided the house of Arsalan Feroz, a resident of Zaldagar MaharajGanj. If reliable sources are to be believed Arsalan, a mechanic by profession was arrested by J&K Police on 23-Oct-this year however he was handed over to SOG Srinagar on 27-october for questioning and subsequently was released on 29-November. The NIA raid ended with the arrest of Arsalan who was taken to NIA’s Srinagar headquarters for further questioning.

1 Trooper Killed, 3 others Injured in Anantnag Encounter

Sheikh Nadeem A soldier of the Indian Army has been killed in the encounter in the Verinag area of ​​south Kashmir's Anantnag district.
