Massive CASO launched in Kulgam area

KULGAM
Joint Forces launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in Odura Nillow area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. An official said that the operation was launched jointly by forces including  RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF Battalion following inputs about the movement of militants in the area. DC orders deducting day’s salary of 32 employees found absent during surprise inspection in Anantnag

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Piyush Singla (IAS) ordered a deduction of one-day salary of 32 employees found absent in the south Kashmir district on Saturday. The order followed surprise inspection by the deputy commissioner, accompanied by ADC Anantnag Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, to various offices to check the attendance of the employees. Besides deducting one-day salary of 32 employees, the Deputy Commissioner Dr. Piyush Singla confirmed to GNS that disciplinary action has been initiated against the ‘absentees.’ (GNS)

Sources said that University Grants Commission had provided a financial grant, earmarked for various developmental works for Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar. KU to hold all pending and recently postponed exams in offline mode

Kashmir University has announced that it will hold all the pending and recently postponed examinations through offline mode. The announcement comes days after students of KU affiliated Nursing College students were demanding their examination be conducted through online mode in view of the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Jammu Kashmir. In a notification, the Controller Examination KU, Prof Irshad Nawchoo said all the pending or recently postponed examinations will be held in offline mode. “No examination shall be held in online mode. The University is already in the process of redrafting date sheets for various pending examinations, which will commence soon after the pandemic situation eases,” the notification read.

The Education Department in Karnataka has suspended a teacher on charges of letting students perform namaz inside the school premises in Kolar district, sources said on Friday. S.M. Umadevi, in-charge head mistress of the Balechengappa Kannada Model Higher Primary School in Someshwarapalya, has been suspended by the Department of Public Instruction. “It is the duty of the teachers of government schools to inculcate a sense of national integration. Religious tolerance, practices and traditions must be there. However, by allowing students to perform namaz in one of the classrooms instils a divisive mindset,” the suspension order stated.
