‘Worried about their safety’- Kashmiri Journalist Masrat Zehra Alleges Harassment of Family by Authorities

Photojournalist Masrat Zehra, who is currently in Germany on Saturday said that her parents in Srinagar are being constantly harassed by the authorities. Taking to her Twitter handle, Masrat wrote, " I am writing this thread after a while of contemplation. My family is being routinely harassed by the authorities in Kashmir. I cannot keep overlooking it and just uselessly hope for it to end. I am worried about the safety of my family." 169 fresh covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in J&K

Jammu and Kashmir reported 169 fresh covid-19 cases while two persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday. 68 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and 101 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 341459. Two deaths, both from Kashmir Valley, were reported due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4530 persons—2199 in Jammu and 2331 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said. Locals from Wani Mohalla in Rahmoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district protested in the village against R&B Department for allegedly failing to complete many projects. As per reports reaching here, the work on a link road was going on in Wani Mohalla, Rahmoo but it was stopped by the locals as a mark of protest. Locals alleged that the department was only concerned about the paperwork but was doing nothing on the ground. An old-aged man alleged the department has not fulfilled any of the demands of the people, whether that be a small pathway even.
