J&K Reports 137 Fresh Covid-19 Cases, No Death

Jammu and Kashmir reported 137 fresh Covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Tuesday. They said 100 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 37 from Kashmir valley, taking the overall tally to 452547. Giving district wise details, the officials told GNS, Srinagar reported 22 cases, Baramulla 3, Budgam 7, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 0, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 3, Ganderbal 0, Kulgam 1, Shopian 0, Jammu 30, Udhampur 22, Rajouri 3, Doda 25, Kathua 6, Samba 2, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 3, Ramban 8 and Reasi 1. A few cases were confirmed at GMC Anantnag and include male (27) from DK Marg DH Pora, male (38) from CR Pora Kulgam, male (36) from Ganapora. Unidentified person crushed to death by train in Budgam

An unidentified person was crushed to death by a moving train in between the Nowgam-Budgam railway section on Tuesday morning. Officials sources said that one unknown person was hit by a train (04617) in between the Srinagar Budgam section near Km 65. The man died on the spot while his identification is being ascertained, he said Pertinently, this is second such incident in last 24 hours as on Monday morning, a man was crushed to death by a moving train at Budgam railway section in Central Kashmir's Budgam district. On Monday, students from Jammu Kashmir studying at Panjab University, Chandigarh and its affiliated colleges were asked to send their details including their Name, Father's name, Date of Birth, Class/Course, Permanent Address, Local Address, Contact number and email to their respective department offices. Five persons injured in Pampore road accident, two critical

At least five persons were injured in a road accident in Galandar Pampore area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that accident took place between Tavera bearing registration number JK13B-2024 and Santro bearing registration no JK01M-2803 in Galandar in which five persons were injured who were shifted to SDH Pampore for treatment. The Kashmiriyat Impact: Power paucity ends as much awaited receiving station made functional in Anantnag

Sheikh Nadeem After a long wait of nearly four years, the construction of power receiving station at Ara Khushipora in Anantnag district has been made functional which has ended power paucity in the area. An official working on the project said that it was part of Prime Ministry Development Package, approved under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for rural electrification, a few years back. The official said that around ₹20 Crore were spent on the project which included two receiving station and distribution work of around 45 habitations. The cost of the receiving station at Ara Khushipora is estimated to be around ₹3.5 Crore. He also said that supply of the receiving station comes from Lisser, which is nearly 7.5 km from the area.
