The son of a Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel is suspected to have joined militant ranks in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The teenager Kaisar Ahmad Dar went missing a week ago and his family is searching for him since, NDTV reported. Kaisar’s class 12 board results were announced four day after he went missing. He scored 88% marks. The family suspects that the teenager might have joined militancy. For the last one week, Mohammad Ashraf has not been able to sleep. He is looking for any clue to rescue his son, the report said. Sheikh Nadeem An unidentified male body was found in Verinag area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district. An official speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that on Sunday morning, Locals spotted a male dead body near Panzoo bridge in Verinag area of Dooru. "The locals called the police who rushed to the spot. They shifted the dead body to the hospital for medical formalities," the official said. The deceased is in the age group 42-45, the official said.

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man died of cardiac arrest in Karan Nagar area of Srinagar on Sunday morning. A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar, the summer capital of the J&K, recorded a low of minus 2.2°C against last night’s minus 3.0°C. Basit Shah Early morning on Sunday, a dead body of an 18 year old was recovered from power canal at central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that youth namely Bilal Ahmad Jagal s/o Mohammed Ismail Jagal aged about 18 years, had gone missing since after 2 pm on Saturday from his home. The locals told The Kashmiriyat that the youth jumped into water reservoir of power house Kangan located at Barnbugh. The police reached the spot and recovered the body, an official said, adding that the body has been sent to Trauma Hospital, Kangan for postmortem. On Friday evening, Justice Ajit Singh Bains, a human rights defender in Punjab passed away at the age of 99 at his residence in Chandigarh. He's survived by his wife, 4 children including Sr. Advocate R.S. Bains and a legacy of defending human rights in Punjab during the militancy period. Bains remained a Judge at Punjab and Haryana High Court from Oct 1974 - May 1984. He founded the Punjab Human Rights Organization right after his retirement in 1985. JK reports 458 Covid-19 cases, 3 deaths

Jammu Kashmir reported 458 covid-19 cases while three persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday. They said 252 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu Division and 206 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall infection tally to 450331. Regarding the fatalities, the officials told GNS that both of them were reported from Jammu and one from Kashmir Valley. So far 4744 persons have succumbed to the virus—2322 in Jammu and 2422 in Kashmir.
