‘Kept her on High oxygen flow four hours’- Young woman dies allegedly of medical negligence in Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed A woman from the Soppar area of Kulgam died of medical negligence on Tuesday. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, one of her family members said that on Sunday (06 Feb) Sholi Jan went for a routine check-up. "The doctor at the clinic advised her to go to the nearby hospital as her oxygen level was slightly low," the family member said. "At the hospital, Sholi was continuously kept on the high flow of oxygen which damaged her lungs and later caused her death on Monday," he told The Kashmiriyat. The Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Kulgam Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed said that a probe has been launched to investigate the incident. "she (Sholi Jan) was suffering from Myotonia. The statement of the concerned doctor will be recorded too during the probe," he said.

Top officials of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education on Tuesday said that it will likely announce annual regular results of 12th standard in few hours. The official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the results are mostly likely to be announced in 2-3 hours. “We are planning to announce the result in 2–3 hours and in case it would be delayed, the results would be announced by tomorrow morning,” the official said. A 17-year-old girl attempted to commit suicide by consuming poisonous substance at her home in Ganiwan Kangan area of Central Kashmir's Ganderbal district. Journalists acting in a manner prejudicial to the country’s “security, sovereignty and integrity” as well as “public order, decency or morality” will lose their Government accreditation, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has said in its new guidelines. The Central Media Accreditation Guidelines-2022, announced on Monday, also lays down guidelines for the accreditation of journalists working for online news platforms. At least seven passengers travelling in a bus were injured after an ill-fated vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Ramban district on Tuesday. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the accident of bus bearing registration number JK02A-3187 took place at Thangrote in Teryath tehsil of Rajouri district.
