Issuance of E-passports will be rolled out this year to enhance the convenience for citizens, announced Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday while presenting the Union Budget 2022-23 in the Lok Sabha during the Budget Session of Parliament. According to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Rs 35581 has been allocated to Jammu & Kashmir for the next fiscal in the Union Budget. The empanelled Rehbar-e-Taleem aspirants held a protest demonstration in north Kashmir's Bandipora town on Monday demanding immediate issuance of their appointment orders which they have been waiting for many years. According to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the protesters assembled in Nishat Park at Bandipora and raised slogans in support of their demand and against the Government, particularly the Commissioner Secretary and Director Education of Kashmir. In its second operation, the newly constituted State Intelligence Agency (SIA) raided a Tehsil office in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday, official sources said. They said that a team of newly formed probing agency raided the Tehsil office Bibjehara in connection with a case already registered at police station of SIA in Srinagar. ‘Improvement in power infra helps in reducing curtailment period’ With the improvement in the power infrastructure, the Kashmir Power Distribution Limited (KPDCL) Monday said that it has been able to provide over 70 per cent of the electricity to Srinagar consumers against the total requirement during winters. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that during the ongoing winters, the electricity requirement in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir is 750 MegaWatts.
