General Secretary of CPI (M), Sitaram Yechury on Thursday demanded early hearing of petition in Supreme Court (SC) challenging the abrogation of Article 370 by the government on August 05, 2019 and said that it was not only Kashmir Pandit who have suffered in the valley, but Muslims, Sikhs and others too have been bore the brunt. The Jammu Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh Thursday said that number of militants is fast decreasing but the militancy is alive in Kashmir. Two tourists die, over a dozen injured in Ganderbal road accident

Two tourists died while over a dozen sustained injuries in a road accident on Thursday near the Hariganiwan area of Kangan In Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the accident occurred on the Srinagar-Leh highway near Hariganiwan , when a tourist mini-bus (JK01N-9382) turned turtle, while it was on its way from Sonamarg to Srinagar. They said that two tourists died in the accident and over a dozen suffered injuries. The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors referred four tourists to SKIMS Soura for advanced treatment. Police and Army are on the spot. A police official confirmed the death of two tourists. He said some of the injured are critical. (KNT)

The President of India on Thursday appointed Moksha Khajuria (Kazmi) and Rahul Bharati as judges of Jammu Kashmir High Court. Joint Forces launched a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) in Gofbal, Quimoh area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. An official said that the operation was launched jointly by forces including  01 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police, and CRPF Battalion following inputs about the movement of militants in the area. A CBI inquiry has been ordered into the allegations of offering bribe of Satyapal Malik, who was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu Kashmir administration itself has recommended the CBI to investigate the matter for a fair investigation of the whole matter. Eleven people have been booked in Rajasthan's Alwar district for forcing a 32-year-old Dalit man to rub his nose on a temple platform over his remarks on the film Kashmir files, Indian express reported.
