J&K Logs 3 Fresh Covid-19 Cases; Two of Them in Srinagar, One in Jammu

Jammu and Kashmir reported three fresh Covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday. They said one of the fresh cases was reported from Jammu Division and two from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 453523. Giving district wise details, the officials told GNS while Srinagar reported two cases, Jammu reported 1. There was no death reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4750 persons have succumbed to the virus—2327 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir. Besides, they said, 29 Covid-19 patients—15 from Jammu and 14 from Valley— recovered during the time. Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a security review meeting with senior officials at Raj Bhawan in Jammu on Saturday. During the meeting, the Home Minister said the security grid should be further strengthened to ensure zero cross-border infiltration and to eliminate terrorism completely in order to achieve Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday produced chargesheet against 19 Public servants and eight beneficiaries in alleged illegal and fraudulent appointments and regularization in PHE in District Baramulla more than a decade ago. The chargesheet pertained to case (FIR No. 12/2010 PS VOK (Now ACB)) against 27 accused persons including 19 public servants and 8 illegal beneficiaries was produced before the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Baramulla, ACB said in statement to GNS. CRPF trooper injured in twin grenade blast in Shopian, Tral

One CRPF trooper was injured as militants hurled two grenades at paramilitary forces at Shopian and Tral areas of south Kashmir on Saturday evening, officials said. They said militants hurled a grenade on a CRPF camp at Zainapora Shopian and in the blast, at least one CRPF trooper, a dog handler, Amit Kumar of 178BN, was injured. Also, a grenade was tossed at CRPF Camp at Nowdal Tral area of southern Pulwama district this evening, they said. A casual labourer of Power Development Department (PDD) was admitted to hospital after he suffered injuries while repairing a HT-wire at Batpora area of Kunzar in north Kashmir's Baramulla district. An official told the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that an employee identified as Waseem Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Muhammad Mir of Devbugh Kunzar was critically injured while rectifying the electric supply at Batpora.  Authorities on Saturday warned of action against the vehicle owners not affixing High Security Registration Plates (HSRPs) on the vehicles. In a communique issued in this regard, SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir said that a good number of motor vehicles were plying without the HSRPs, in violation of the directions by Supreme Court of India and Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) in this regard As per the SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, the old plates were easy to tamper with “which can be misused by anti-national elements”. The SSP said that vehicles not affixing the plates were liable for action under section 192(1) and Rs 2000 fine. Police on Saturday issued a statement regarding an incident at a local restaurant near Humhama Budgam. “Today in the morning two (army) jawans on their way towards airport stopped at a local restaurant near Humhama for tea.
