SEPT Khunmoh organizes massive plantation drive

Mehr-u-Nisa Socio Environment Protection Trust (SEPT), Khunmoh organized a plantation drive on Sunday at Datir Pathri near TCI Khunmoh. More than six dozen of the locals including a large number of youth participated in the drive with enthusiasm. The volunteers planted trees around the area without any support of city officials. They brought their own tools and carried out the drive. The locals say that the goal of the drive was to raise awareness among the people and instill in them love for nature in order to improve the environment since whole of the area is critically polluted. The incident came to light after the victim's mother filed a case of kidnapping against the accused. According to a report in the Hindustan Times, the accused had eloped with the 16-year-old girl from Rajouri. The accused switched off his mobile and fled to Palghar along with the minor and rented a flat in Vishnu Nagar, Police Naik Ramesh Palve of Palghar police said.
