The Jammu Kashmir administration on Wednesday ordered an increase of 3% dearness allowances of the government employees working in regular pay levels under 7th Pay Commission recommendations. An per an order, an existing rate of DA per month for employees was 31% of basic pay and has been increased to 34% with effect from 01-01-2022. Thieves stole costly taps from a Masjid in uptown Srinagar in broad daylight. The shameful incident occurred in Mehjoor Nagar where thieves targeted ‘Jamia Ahilhadith’ Masjid. An elderly man from the Masjid Committee told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the incident came to light around 12 pm when the sound of running water alerted a local who had arrived in the Masjid to give a call for Zuhar prayer. To his shock, all the taps in the bathrooms were missing with water flowing uninterruptedly. “Over a dozen taps of superior quality have been stolen. Amid the ongoing holy month of Ramadan, the people from different parts of Kashmir here have complained of unscheduled power cuts, especially during Sehri and Iftaar times, which according to them left them to lurch at large.
