Ashiq Nengroo of Pulwama designated as ‘Terrorist’ by centre

Ashiq Ahmed Nengroo, a dreaded commander of the banned outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), was designated as a terrorist by the Centre on Monday for his involvement in various militancy-related incidents in Jammu Kashmir, PTI reported. In a notification, the Union home ministry said Nengroo has been involved in the infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir and has also been responsible for perpetrating various attacks in Jammu Kashmir. Nengroo is running a syndicate in Kashmir and is now “engaged in a perilous campaign to orchestrate militancy in Jammu Kashmir”, remote-controlled from Pakistan, the ministry said. Ambulance driver killed in Karnah road mishap

An Ambulance driver was killed in a road accident in north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Monday afternoon, officials said. They told GNS that a mini-ambulance bearing registration number JK09A-8992 on way to Karnah from Kupwara fell into a deep gorge after the driver purportedly lost control over the vehicle near Madh Modh Teethwal, resulting in onspot death of the driver. Identifying the deceased as Shakoor Ahmad Awaan, 40, son of Abdul Rehman Awaan a resident of Teethwal, they further said there was no other than the driver on board the vehicle.
