JK Admin wakes up to exorbitant food prices, Issues rate list for vegetables and fruits

The Jammu Kashmir administration has woken up to the exorbitant food prices in the region and issued a rate list of vegetables and fruits. Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs has fixed rates for vegetables & fruits to avoid overcharging. The Department also said that strict action would be initiated against the violators of the rate list issued by the Jammu Kashmir admin. PDD casual Labourer electrocuted to death in Anantnag

A 28-year-old casual labourer with PDD was electrocuted to death while repairing an electric line in this south Kashmir district on Wednesday, officials said. They said the casual labourer-- Shabir Ahmad Khan, 28, son of Mohammad Iqbal Khan of Check Ishardas Mattan got electrocuted while repairing electric line at at Wantrag Kehribal. He was immediately shifted to Public Health Centre (PHC) Mattan where doctors declared him brought dead. Israeli forces kill Palestinian Man in Asqalon

The Israeli forces have shot dead another Palestinian alleging that he attempted to stab a police officer with a kitchen knife. Witnesses quoted by Al Jazeera said that the incident happened on Tuesday morning in the port city of Asqalan (Ashkelon) when Israeli police entered a work site to check whether the Palestinians there had permits. “The Palestinians are saying that the man did not pose any threat and that the Israeli police were acting in a very violent way,” said Al Jazeera’s Nida Ibrahim, reporting from Jenin. Sonmarg: Minor boy from Mumbai dies after falling off a horse, Tamil Nadu woman critical

An 11-year-old tourist from Mumbai died of head injuries after he fell off a horse at tourist resort of Sonmarg here in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. A police official told news agency Kashmir News Trust that while enjoying a horse ride in Sonmarg an elderly woman from Tamil Nadu along with a minor boy from Mumbai fell off the horse and sustained critical injuries. Both were taken to Primary Health Centre Sonamarg where Kartik (11) son of Shodakar Divdiga, a resident of Mumbai Dombiwali was declared dead on arrival by the doctors. The woman from Tamil Nadu identified as Shashi Kumari Singh (63) wife of Ajay Kumar Singh was referred to SKIMS in critical condition. BJP Government gives permission to CBI to prosecute former Amnesty India head

The Centre has given the go ahead to the CBI to prosecute Amnesty International India and its former chief Aakar Patel for alleged violations of the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), paving way for a special court to take cognisance of its charge sheet filed on December 31, 2021. The CBI had sought the sanction of the government to prosecute the international human rights organisation because of mandatory clause of Section 40 of the FCRA.
