One unidentified militant has been killed as gunfight has started between militants and Security forces in Beshembar Nagar of Central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Sunday. Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar told GNS that initial exchange of fire one militant has been killed. Another militant still trapped. Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Beshembar Nagar. As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)

Imran Khan loses No-Trust vote, To be removed as Pakistan PM

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan lost a crucial trust vote in the National Assembly past midnight on Saturday, becoming the first premier in the country's history to be removed through a no-confidence motion. The National Assembly session, began on Saturday 10. 30 am, was adjourned multiple times ahead of the voting.  Meanwhile, Speaker Asad Qaiser and Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri resigned before the voting began. Imran Khan, who was elected as the Prime Minister in 2018, faced a no-confidence vote largely on accusations of economic mismanagement. The opposition's no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan succeeded an hour past midnight on Sunday, with 174 members in the 342-strong house voting in favour of the resolution.

Israel continues Air strikes in Syria

The Israeli warplanes hit several locations in Syria's central region on Saturday. According to SANA- Syria's premier news agency, “at about 19:45 p.m. on Saturday, the Israeli enemy launched an aerial aggression from the direction of the north of Lebanon that targeted some points in the central region as the army air defenses confronted it and shot down a number of missiles.” After verifying the impacts of the Israeli aggression on the central region, the losses were restricted to materials only. Earlier on Monday Israel carried out airstrikes near Damascus which killed two civilians. In Syria, 131,750 people have died in the 11-year-long conflict.

Meer Irfan On Saturday evening, the Government forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in the Heff area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. An official confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Shopian area following an input about militant presence in the area. He said that the search operation is going on and searchlights have been installed around the suspected area. The forces have sealed the entry and exit points of the area, Locals said, adding, "A couple of gunshots were heard a few moments ago during the CASO."

Rapid antigen test (RAT) for Covid-19 returned positive for 24 students at NIT Srinagar on Saturday, officials said In a letter to the Head of the Department, Social and Preventive Medicine GMC Srinagar, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Hazrabal informed that 24 students out of 47 tested positive for Covid 19 during RAT today. “It is requested to kindly take up the matter with the concerned authorities for necessary declaration of MCZ (Micro Containment Zone),” the letter, reads.(GNS)

Meer Irfan Internet services have been suspended in parts of south Kashmir on Saturday afternoon. Locals from south Kashmir told The Kashmiriyat that internet services were snapped in the Zainapora belt of Shopian, Litter belt of Pulwama, and Yaripora belt of Kulgam on Saturday afternoon. "All of a sudden around 2 PM, our internet stopped working. We do not know the reason," Suhail, a resident of Zainapora said. Similarly, locals from Yaripora and Litter areas of south Kashmir said that their internet services were snapped on Saturday afternoon. Though officials could not be reached immediately for any comments.
