Police on Saturday said they have arrests two sons for murdering their father and dumping his body into Dal Lake Srinagar, officials said. Police spokesperson as per a statement issued to Kashmir Bulletin--(KB), said that on 07th April, on a reliable information that an unidentified dead body was lying in the Dal lake near Akhoon mohalla Foreshore road, Police station Nigeen swung into action and fished out the body from the said spot and shifted it to the hospital for medico- legal formalities. Subsequently inquest proceedings under section 174 Crpc were initiated. As per the spokesperson; the body was identified as of Khurshid Ahamd Tota (62), S/O: Ghulam Nabi Tota R/O: Elahibagh Soura. An inquiry has been ordered by the Chief Education Officer Bandipora after a video went viral on social media purportedly showing some children of a government school being made to do the manual labour inside school premises in the north Kashmir district. According to GNS, a two member team including Deputy CEO and a Principal GHSS has been constituted to enquire into the video on social media and “district administration group” purportedly showing the students of MS Branch being made to do the ‘manual labour’ in the school premises. Saudi Arabia increases Hajj quota to 1 million in 2022

Saudi Arabia raised the number of Hajj pilgrims from inside and outside the kingdom to 1 million in 2022, authorities announced Saturday after two years of restrictions because of the coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia released a statement that said Hajj is open to those under 65 years of age who have received approved COVID-19 vaccinations by the Saudi Ministry of Health. Pilgrims from abroad will be required to submit a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours from the time of departure, it added while urging visitors to comply with the health measures.
