Three year old boy drowns to death in Shopain

Sahil Gulzar A three-year-old boy drowned to death on Friday in a stream in Reban area of Zainapora in South Kashmir's Shopian district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a minor boy while playing slipped in the stream, flowing through the area at Khargund Chak-e-Reban in the Zainapora area and drowned. Locals launched the rescue operation and evacuated him. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he added. The boy has been identified as Azaan Imtiyaz son of Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganaie a resident of Khargund Chak-e-Reban. Dr. Suhail Mir, a Kashmiri, has been named the Afghanistan cricket team's physiotherapist. Dr. Suhail announced in a Facebook video that he is accompanying the squad to Abu Dhabi for a 20-day training camp. The Afghan captain hails Suhail in the video and also expresses his willingness to visit Kashmir. Prior to his current assignment with Afghanistan, Suhail worked as a physio for the Arunachal squad. "I'd want to inform everyone that we are pleased with the manner you (Suhail) have been serving the team for the past week. Dr. Suhail is giving everything he has. At least four tourists were injured on Friday morning when the tempo vehicle they were travelling hit the protection wall and turned turtle at Dursuma area in district Ganderbal, police said. 40,000 troopers to be deployed in Kashmir for Amarnath Yatra: MHA

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked the Jammu and Kashmir Police, as well as the Central security agencies, to make a foolproof plan for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra which is set to begin on June 30, sources have said. The Ministry has directed the deployment of more than 40,000 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and also other troopers from paramilitary forces, the sources further said. The registration for the annual pilgrimage will begin from April 11. During the yatra, all the registered pilgrims will be given an RFID tag, which will ensure the exact location of the person at all times.
