The Jammu Kashmir High Court ruled on Wednesday that calling Kashmir "occupied Kashmir" and its residents as "slaves" does not enjoy protection under the Constitution's Article 19 (A), on right to freedom of speech and expression. 24-year-old girl commits suicide in Baramulla

A 24-year-old girl on Thursday allegedly committed suicide at her home in Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that a 24-year-old (name withheld), a resident of the Yall Pattan area allegedly committed suicide at her home. “She was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital Pattan where doctors declared her brought dead,” they said. Later, the dead body was taken for the conducting of medico-legal formalities and police have registered a case and further investigation has been taken up. (KDC)

Two women have received serious injuries in an incident of attack by a wild bear in remote village Gagriyan of Poonch district on Thursday. Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar on Thursday said that 62 militants have been killed so far this year in Kashmir Valley. In a tweet, he said 39 of the militants were from Lashker-e-Toiba, 15 from Jash-e-Mohammad , six from Hizb-ul-Muajhideen and two from Al-Badr. “Among them, 47 were locals and 15 foreign militants,” said the IGP Kashmir as per GNS.
