Week after ouster of MC President Baramulla, 6 councilors join BJP
A week after Towseef Ahmad Raina was removed from the post of President Municipal Council Baramulla after losing a non-confidence motion, at least six councilors on Tuesday joined Bhartiya Janata Party.
The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has learned that the joining function was held at Dak Bungalow Baramulla, in presence of union home minister Dr Jitendra Singh and senior BJP leader Anwar Khan.
The six councilors who have joined the saffron party include Mudasir Ahmad Tantray, Fareeda Begum, Jasbir Kaur, Gurpreet Singh Bali, and Ghulam Rasool Malik.
Last week, Raina, who was the President of Municipal Council Baramulla was removed after he lost a no-confidence motion that was moved against him by councilors—(KNO)
