SIA Jammu arrested former HM militant Abdul Rashid alias Arsalan son of Abdul Gani Sheikh resident of Tantna A/P Ghat, Doda. The said the militant was involved in case FIR No.06/2010 U/S 13/18/18.B/ 20 UA(P) Act of P/S JIC Jammu. During the crime review by the Director SIA J&K, the SIA team was directed to identify the militant involved in the said FIR and after strenuous efforts, the CIO of the instant case, deputed the team to Doda to arrest the said militant. As the said militant was active in the year 2009-2010 and was in constant touch with Kashmir-based HM militants and carried out many militant activities in Doda valley, which will be further unfolded and unearthed during the further investigation of the said case. In a step towards elections in Jammu Kashmir, the Chief Electoral Officer of J&K has called for rationalization of all polling stations before June 20 as well as freezing of all Electoral Roll Operations for the region on June 2. This order is being seen as a step closer to conduct of assembly elections in UT. Two persons were killed and six others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in met with an accident in Kishtwar district on Tuesday. On world No tobacco day, Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Tuesday has sought complete ban on tobacco products in Kashmir. “That would prevent people from cancer,” said DAK President Dr Nisar ul Hassan in a statement.
