Danishwar Hameed The Jammu Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested an over-ground worker (OGW) of the militants in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that one "OGW" identified as Yamin Yousuf Bhat son of Mohammed Yousuf Bhat aged 19, a resient of Gadhama Kulgam was arrested during a special operation in the Kulgam area of south Kashmir. The official said that  01 STAR PISTOL,  51  9mm Rounds and 02  Grenades were recovered from his possession. As per Initial reports, Yamin is said to be a student of First year B.A at Government Degree college in Kulgam. Details emerging.

Policeman dies of bullet injury in Jammu

A policeman died due to bullet injuries in the Jammu district on late Saturday, said official sources. They identified the deceased as a constable aged 33, who belonged to Pascal village in Bishnah falling under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station. An official said that either it has been a suicide or the cop died due to accidental fire. “Investigation has been started in this matter and inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC have initiated.,” he added. Rayees Shah An oil tanker driver lost his life in a deadly road accident after his vehicle skidded off the road on the Srinagar-Leh highway near India Gate Zojila this morning.
